Making Memories by Hand

I love to craft and bake and try new things.  I've always been drawn to the rustic charm and shabby chic decor while at the same time appreciating the clean lines of modern design.  I've always wanted to own a store that sold decorated cookies, cakes and cupcakes, hand painted wood signs, watercolour art, books (lots of books), pillows etc.  All these things bring me comfort, but along the way, I also discovered a passion for creating them myself.  I'm married to a wonderful husband who is so understanding and supportive (he has to be since he does a lot of my cutting and sanding of wood for my projects!).  Together we have two teenage daughters ( I could write an entirely different blog on that, as I'm sure many parents can attest to!).   I am also a huge pet lover.  In addition to our girls, we have had many fur babies in our home from dogs and cats to guinea pigs.  As well, for the last two years, I have been enjoying a lower carb, less processed lifestyle which has enabled me to lose 70 pounds and I'm in the best shape of my life.  I still love to bake carb-rich goodies, I just don't sample them as much as I used to.  My inspiration to create this site grew from a desire to document all the things I discover along the way.  I learn so much from everyone around me and hope that others will find this site informative too.
